The engineer owner of this pool originally designed it to be attached to the two enormous granite boulders framing the pool. However, the pool was founded on gunite pylons, and the walls heavily re-enforced to be self supporting. The block retaining wall provides further lateral support, and provides a base for the Smartstone paved surround.
The pool is finished in dark blue ceramic tiles and grey marble plaster.
Suburban Pools received an NSPI Structural Award for this pool in 1997.
